A Message From Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks for the Occasion of the First Yahrzeit in Our Community (Recorded in 2019)
Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks recorded this message for the families of the 11 who were taken on 18 Cheshvan 5779, for the occasion of the first yahrzeit in our community. And so today, the day after the first yahrzeit of Rabbi Sacks’ death, we wanted to share his words with you. May his memory, and the memories of the 11, continue to be for a blessing.
“When we remember as Jews, we do so for the sake of the future. So that those who died, may live on in us: in words, gestures, a smile here, an act of kindness there, that we would not have done had that person not left their mark on our lives.” -
