    It’s an honour to be joined this week by an old mate and legendary Brisbane graffiti writer, Koolie ACR for the 145th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

    From Koolie’s involvement in the first wholecar painted in Brisbane in 1987 to his work and passion for the CFMEU, one of Inala’s favourite sons breaks down his history and many contributions from the western suburbs of the River City.

    Roms is an unheralded veteran of the Brisbane graffiti scene, he has been painting since the late 80’s and collecting records for nearly as long, a champion of early legal walls around the city, Roms has stories for days.

    This is one of those classic Beers episodes that goes everywhere, we talk everything from the importance of Brisbane’s pioneer writers to Black Sabbath’s record label and on to the events that unfolded following September 11, 2001.

    Bonezy has been involved in music and audio engineering since his teenage years and has worked behind the scenes on releases from Tornts, Bigfoot, Gaz Hazard, 2023’s Kill Squad record featuring Overproof Pete, Bigfoot, Heata and Wallzee and numerous metal and genre albums.

    Between it all we talk growing up, soundtracks and scores to movies, the influence and songs of Bias B, HG and 750, various albums, shows, how audio works and impacts the listener as well as getting into some of the music we can’t stand.

    We talk everything from Bracer’s earliest years and his shared history with Jake Biz to the beginnings of FMC, its prominence in the jail system, his years working alongside Strut, Bias, Pegs and Shaz in the early days of Obese Records and on to the tumultuous couple of years he spent in Brisbane living with 750.

    We are stoked to be back for 2024 and joined by the legendary DJ FX for the 140th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

    In December 2023 we hit Melbourne for a live show at The Laundry bar in Fitzroy, in lead up to the show we had a bunch of great conversations, and here’s our first guest in that series - Frankston’s own, DJ FX.

    DJ FX is a staple of the Australian hip hop scene, having DJ’d for Melbourne pioneers the Puah Hedz (Muph, Draino, Osinaka) in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, he’s been involved in numerous albums, radio shows and on the periphery of so many amazing moments within the culture.

    We chart the various accomplishments and achievements of this soft spoken legend, from turntables, records and radio shows to travel, random rap moments and stories, Kerris is undisputed and his contributions are many.
