“What is the gospel?” Responses continuously return to an inward-looking faith instead of a faith that clings externally to the astonishing mercy of Christ Jesus, who took the sin
of the world into Himself on the cross and breathed out His life for and onto His creation. In this act of
sacrifice, Jesus is indeed the sacrificial Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. Through His resurrection,
Jesus Christ has given His promise of eternal life in Him.

Gut honey
So, how many ways can Samson violate his Naziritic vows (that's a question, Samson, not a challenge!)? Samson wants what he is forbidden to have, eats what he should not, thinks with his hormones instead of his brain, and gets mad when the Philistines "plow with his heifer." And STILL, God is using all of this to accomplish His will.

The Angel of the Lord, "this woman," and the promised child
The beginnings of Samson the Nazirite and his vows. Craig and Troy talk about the meaning of the Naziritic vow, but are even more interested in the identity of the angel of the Lord.

Jephthah, the bomb in Gilead
As Craig and Troy continue through the book of Judges, we encounter Jephthah. Did God raise him up, or was he raised up by men? Did God empower his victory, or did he accomplish through his own might? Did God ask Jephthah for a sacrifice, or did Jephthah offer something God neither requested nor desired?

Gideon: It's complicated
Gideon swears that none but God will be the leader of Israel, and then immediately becomes a tyrant. Why does God choose to work through broken vessels? How can He accomplish what He does through such sinful people?

I dreamed a dream of the 300
God always seems to work through that which is least likely to work, so that all glory is ascribed to Him. God sends Gideon and his 300 with their clay assault pots to take out the enemy. Will it work? Will God give Gideon a decisive victory?

Fleecing God
Gideon accepts the call of the Lord whole-heartedly . . . well actually no. Gideon's response to the Lord's call is filled with weakness, with fearfulness, and with faithlessness. Can we see ourselves in Gideon's story? But more importantly, how can we see Christ and His work in Gideon's story?
