    MPA Talks to Eddie Kramer

I wanted to start this series with someone special. Someone celebrated someone who has made a large impression on the world through his work. The first name that came to mind was most definitely this guy. Eddie Kramer.

I’ve had the honour of calling Eddie a friend for about 15 years now. We’ve shared a lot of time together Eddie and I, both in studios and on the road and I’ve heard a lot of stories about his life, his career, his passions and of course, about Jimi Hendrix. It has occurred to me on multiple occasions that I have been extremely lucky to sit and listen to one of the music world’s legends, just reminisce, to this sometimes awestruck Aussie audience of one. It’s also crossed my mind over the years that these stories should be heard by a much larger audience, as Eddie inspires, he motivates, he makes everyone around him smile, and yeah, sure he can be hard to work with. But no one said the road to success was easy or pothole-free.
Our conversation started on a Wednesday afternoon call, which literally was just a catch-up call when I presented this idea of recording a podcast to him. His response was very Kramer. He said, let’s do it now. So, we did.
