Navigating Controversy: Offshore Wind in Rhode Island
Offshore wind has stirred controversy in recent years, especially in Rhode Island with the Block Island wind farm construction starting in 2015. Some see it as the future of energy, while others view it as a threat to our way of life.
We gathered local fishing industry experts to discuss offshore wind's impact on Rhode Island and neighboring states. Tune in; it's an episode worth hearing, as we all deserve a say in significant environmental changes, whether you're for or against it.

1620 Workwear
In this week's episode of Along the Keel, we sit down with Josh and Ted, the founders of 1620 workwear. From the start of 1620, the guys made it their mission to deliver high-quality workwear to the underserved blue-collar industry. 1620 utilizes custom fabrics and designs and makes 100% of its products here in the USA. It's a story of that embodies what it means to start a brand and what better community than the men and women who know a thing or two about hard work.
For a limited time only, we are launching this episode of Along the Keel with a collaborative 1620 Nyco Long Sleeve and T-shirt. You can grab a flagship ATK x 1620 gear HERE or head on over to www.alongthekeel.com. All shirts are made across the border in Massachusetts, with materials sourced from around the USA.

Howler Brothers
In this week's episode of Along the Keel, I sit down with Rick Whittenbaker, Chief Marketing Officer for Howler Brothers. Nestled deep in the heart of Austin, Texas, Howler Brothers brings together a unique perspective on outdoor culture and what most would describe as good wholesome living. Fishing, surfing, exploring, and having a good time are all part of the Howlerverse, and it's no surprise that these guys have been around for over a decade. Rick and I go deep into what makes Howler Brothers so special while at the same time discussing the importance of building a culture and brand and being authentic. His experience in the outdoor industry and as an entrepreneur is full of nuggets that I think we can all apply in our own lives, regardless of whether or not you own a business.

Watchtower
In this week’s episode of Along the Keel, I sit down with Trevor Heath one of the founders of Watchtower. The software was originally developed to help lifeguards better manage their areas of operation. However, it has since been curtailed into an all-in-one safety platform, acting as a digital command center for first responders. Trevor and I go into the details behind the platform, some of the stories that they have earned, and of course how it all came together. That and more on this week’s episode of Along the Keel. But first please go and support the show by leaving a five-star rating on Apple podcasts and share this episode with someone that you know. Thank you and enjoy the show!
