Ranaer Neverember, professionally disguised by a friend of Kat, tags along as the party investigates Floon's trail as it leads below the streets of Waterdeep. Have they bitten off more than they can chew when the path leads to a secret gang hideout?

Snooping around the dock ward has brought the party to Ol' Xoblob's Shop of Curiosities, where he gives them an essential clue pertaining to the whereabouts of their charge Floon Blagmaar. Feathers begin to fly as they find themselves breaking into an abandoned Zhent warehouse.

Darien, Imogen, and Kat search the Castle Ward of Waterdeep, attempting to pick up the trail of Floon Blagmaar, Volo's missing friend. Inspiration strikes Imogen in the form of a letter sent to her office just days ago and the sleuths find a strong lead.

We find our heroes in the Yawning Portal: Darien, a young magic-user attending the Blackstaff Academy and fan of Volothamp Geddarm, attends a book signing for Volo's Guide to Monsters, eager to meet his hero; Imogen, a gossip writer for The Davian Standard, hopes to dig up some dirt on Volo for the publication's ongoing smear campaign; across the tavern, Ekaterina, a newly inducted member of the Zhentarim, enjoys a night of drinking with her guildmates. None of them expected such excitement on their night out.
