    Daniel Ziblatt on Resilient Democracies

In this collaboration with 55 Voices for Democracy, Daniel Ziblatt talks about the decline of democracies and what makes them resilient. Ziblatt encourages us "We shouldn't be afraid to reform our constitution and our institutions." In conversation with the hosts Anne McElvoy and Tom Zoellner, he argues that strong civil societies, robust media, independent professions, and strong oppositions are key to strong democracies. Daniel Ziblatt is professor of government at Harvard University and director of Transformations of Democracy at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. He recently published, with Steve Levitsky, the best-selling book How Deomcracies Die and Conservative Parties and the Birth of Democracy.
