Episode 6: Kinder Scout Mass Trespass
Come with me as I walk in the footsteps of Benny Rothman, Ewan MacColl and 400 or so other men back in 1932 as they took part in a mass trespass on the North West of England's highest peak to protest lack of access to the moorland for common folk.
This historical act of civil disobedience served as the catalyst that led to the opening of the National Parks system, the opening of the Pennine Way and eventually the "Right to Roam" in the countryside. -
Episode 5: Bridgewater Canal to Sale W/ Sean Mason of Comedysportz
This one was recorded on March 1st 2021 and it is with my first guest my very good friend Sean Mason. Sean is amongst other things a writer, actor and improviser who is one of the main players in improv troupe Comedysportz UK (Csz UK). Listen to us discuss the merits of canal holidays, the history of the Bridgwater Canal while we completely miss the Barton Swing Aquaduct. We talk about fringe theatre, improv and the hit play Sean was in "New Dawn Fades : A Play About Joy Division and Manchester. We also waffle on odd museums and engineering feats.
