    Ep 87: 3 Mistakes I've Made Recently

    Ep 87: 3 Mistakes I've Made Recently

    Mistakes. We’ve all made ‘em.
In this episode, I wanted to share 3 mistakes I’ve made recently (personally and professionally) as a jumping off point for talking about missteps, how we corrected them, and what we learned.
Of course, not all mistakes are equal. And we don’t always want to harp on things we did wrong. But it can be helpful to hear about other people’s mess ups, and talking about it can hold us accountable for our own actions.
Because next time we’ll do it differently.
    Right?
This episode features listener voices at the end sharing their own recent mistakes.

Ep 86: 10 Thoughts on Therapy

Ep 86: 10 Thoughts on Therapy

This episode is for anyone curious about therapy.
October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and so I wanted to put together a few thoughts on the number one thing that has helped me navigate my anxiety: talk therapy.
I’ve struggled with anxiety since childhood, but I didn’t try therapy until I was 35 years old, and drowning under the weight of new motherhood and postpartum. In this episode, I am sharing 10 thoughts on therapy, including how to find a therapist, how to pay for therapy, and some of the most important things I’ve learned in 6 years of regular therapy after decades of coping with my mental health alone.
Please note: I am not an expert of any kind. Please talk to a doctor or medical professional if you are experiencing mental health struggles. This episode is only meant to share my own experience.
Also note: I am talking about general talk therapy. There are many specialized treatments and therapists available for a wide range of issues dealing in trauma, relationships, etc. Always research the help you’re seeking.

Ep 85: Ask Me in 3 Months (2020)

Ep 85: Ask Me in 3 Months (2020)

This episode is for anyone who has ONE BIG TASK they really want to get done before the end of the year.
It’s October, which means we have less than three months until the end of the year. And while 2020 has been one of the weirdest years in modern history, we still somehow have normal life things that have slipped through the cracks.
Those things that we just keep procrastinating: home improvement, emotional chores, creative projects. These aren’t goals, they’re just tasks, the ones that keep slipping to the bottom of the priority list.
Let’s commit to choosing ONE thing we want to get done between now and the end of 2020 and share it as a way to stay accountable. Let’s make our future January 2021 selves super proud of how we finished the Wild West of 2020.

BONUS: How influencers are making money off you. (A conversation with Jessica Turner)

Have you ever wondered how influencers are making money through their blogs and social media posts? Have you ever wanted to try and make some of that money yourself?
In this BONUS episode, I'm pulling back the curtain a little on how I make money using affiliate links on my blog and social media posts.
And one of the smartest women I know - Jessica Turner of The Mom Creative - is talking with me about her new course Affiliate Marketing for Influencers.
We're all being influenced every day, and sometimes we don't even know it. Jessica and I share how this works, and how to do it legally and with integrity.

Ep 84: Where did we begin? (A relationship origin story with Jeff Tremaine)

Ep 84: Where did we begin? (A relationship origin story with Jeff Tremaine)

This episode is for anyone curious to hear the other angle of an origin story.
It’s our wedding anniversary! This week, my husband Jeff and I celebrate 13 years of marriage, and so I thought it would be fun to have him on the show to share HIS side of our relationship’s origins. This is something I’ve talked and written about for years, but (surprise!) he has a different take.
This week I want YOU to talk a partner or best friend about your relationship’s origin story. Ask, “Where did we begin?” and “What do you remember about that time?” and “Tell me your version.”
Even if you think you know what someone is going to say about your relationship’s origin, you might be surprised at what comes up.

Reminder that in my Secret Posts emails, I share behind the scenes information, announcements, and all of the stuff I don’t want to live on the World Wide Web. It’s also a digest of my recent book reviews, style and makeup obsessions, and more.

uplifting

This is one of those podcasts that can vê be listened to as part of your morning/exercise/self development routine, as well as a constant reminder that, hey, it’s ok to feel, to struggle, to relapse and try again. Love the soundtrack, the host’s energy, everything.
