For this episode I wanted to look at just how flexible the archetype can be and how central a role they can play in the plot by looking at Children Of The Corn and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine doubles down on what it does best in episode 5 of season 2, Cardassians, and Malcolm Gladwell continues to make me question everything I thought I knew with his 2008 novel, Outliers.

As the public restrictions due to Coved 19 have started to loosen, we’ve seen a slew of behavior that makes us shake our heads. So I thought for the month of June I would take a look at a series of films where the main characters ignore warnings, in way or the other, which leads to calamity. Welcome to “They Were Warned!!!”

To kick things off I wanted to look at two films that have basically the same plot but the characters involved ignore the warnings that they are given in different ways and for different reasons. The Evil Dead from 1981 and its side sequel Evil Dead from 2013.

After a very strong opening to the second season, DS9 slows down a bit with “Invasive Procedures” and Miriam Toews continues to be a dream to read with her 2014 novel, All My Puny Sorrows.

The month of May is over which means that superhero month has come to a close. What better way to celebrate that ending than by focusing on two lesser-known seekers of justice? One is a hideously deformed creature of superhuman size and strength that is hell-bent on cleaning up the streets of Tromaville and the other is a naïve Mormon that uses the power of the orgasm to deftly defy evildoers. That’s right, The Toxic Avenger and Trey Parker’s Orgazmo.

Before The Avengers, Spider-Man, or the X-Men hit the big screen, there was one hero that ruled the multiplexes. Superhero month continues with episode 20! Hard to believe I’ve done 20 of these. So for the big 20 I’m taking a look at one of the biggest comic book movies ever made, Avengers Endgame. Epic, massive, monumental, none of these words do it justice. But given that everyone one in the world saw this movie, I’m sure you agree. Deep Space Nine kicks off season 2 with a bang with, The Homecoming, and Stephen King shows why he is the still the king with Hearts In Atlantis.

In a world of Iron Men, Man Bats, and Captains of Americana, it’s easy to forget about the little guys. Those unsung heroes that flew so far under the radar that they smacked there heads right off the dish. For episode 19 of The Steal My Name Podcast I’m taking a look at two such under sung heroes: Doctor Mordrid and Howard The Duck. Yes, the 1992 Full Moon… homage… to Doctor Strange and George Lucas’s overcooked golden egg. These two oddball flicks have a lot more to offer than you might initially think.
