#4: Dr. Didi Watts – Vicarious Trauma and Viewing Teachers as Leaders Teach and Do with Chontali Kirk

    • Autoajuda

In this episode, I interviewed Dr. Didi Watts, my very first principal and the one woman who taught me much of what I know about balancing teaching and doing! This recording occurred before the Coronavirus pandemic, but many topics are relevant to what we are facing today, including Dr. Didi’s chat about administrators viewing teachers as leaders (at 21:08) and her tips on how to address the vicarious trauma many educators are experiencing (27:35). Currently, Dr. Didi is the Director of Education at a special education school in Los Angeles and is also a pastor’s wife at a church that focuses heavily on education. Find out more about Dr. Didi Watts on Twitter @didiwatts, Facebook @didi.watts.9, or on the web at https://www.wattsofpowerfoundation.org/.

--- This podcast was created to highlight teachers who don’t just teach but also live their best lives while teaching. Someone once said, those who can’t do teach, but, that is a total myth. We are living in exciting times where educators are proving that it’s possible to teach AND do amazing things. On the show, host Chontali Kirk will spotlight talented educators who do their jobs well, and also live their lives well. They are not just teachers, but they themselves are doers who are actively pursuing their dreams and passions while teaching kids to do the same.
