Jones was a knockabout bloke who made his name as a tough forward from the Northern Beaches.

He is best known for finishing runner up in the 1992 Rothmans Medal to Allan Langer, the equivalent of today's Dally M.

We caught up with Jughead to chat about how close he was to the medal, coming through the junior ranks at Manly, why rugby league is destined to fail on the Gold Coast and plenty more.
