Bem vindos de volta a mais um Active Class. Meu nome é Luccas Cavalcante para quem não me conhece e sou um dos fundadores da escola Inglês Active. Nesse episódio, continuamos usando fábulas para aprender inglês. São histórias curtas mas com um conteúdo rico, além de sempre terem uma moral no final. O título escolhido desta vez é: The Lion, the bear and the fox.
Fiz a leitura em duas velocidades, normal e lento. Dependendo do seu nível de inglês, você pode escolher qual velocidade o agrada mais. ;)

THE LION, THE BEAR, AND THE FOX
Just as a great Bear rushed to seize a stray kid, a Lion leaped from another direction upon the same prey. The two fought furiously for the prize until they had received so many wounds that both sank down unable to continue the battle.
Just then a Fox dashed up, and seizing the kid, made off with it as fast as he could go, while the Lion and the Bear looked on in helpless rage.
"How much better it would have been," they said, "to have shared in a friendly spirit."
Moral: Those who have all the toil do not always get the profit.

O leão, o urso e a raposa
Assim que um grande urso correu para agarrar um filhote de cabra perdida, um Leão saltou de outra direção sobre a mesma presa. Os dois lutaram furiosamente para o prêmio até que tinham recebido tantas feridas, que ambos caíram incapazes de continuar a batalha.
Naquele momento, uma raposa apareceu e, agarrando o filhote de cabra, fugiu com ele tão rápido quanto ele poderia ir, enquanto o leão e o urso impotente olhavam com raiva.
"Quanto melhor teria sido," eles disseram, "de ter compartilhado com um espírito amigável."
Moral: Aqueles que fizeram todo o trabalho duro nem sempre obtém o lucro.
Vocabulário novo:
To make off
phrasal verb of make
leave hurriedly, especially in order to avoid duty or punishment.
Example:
"they made off without paying" – Eles sairam sem pagar.
