This week I chat with Erin Whalen who plays basketball for the Dayton Flyers.  She talks about the recruiting process out of high school and what it is like to transfer schools at the D1 level.

Carlee highlights what it was like working for an NAIA program for 2 seasons.  She dives into classroom expectations for athletes along with debunking some NAIA myths.

The first 20 mins of the show we discuss AAU basketball and it's effects on athletes both developing and socially.  We wrap up the last 10 minutes talking about how men/women & boys/girls differ in competition, at every level, in terms of how they prepare and what their motivations are.

In this episode I interview a current high school student athlete and hear about the struggles that kids face at this level balancing their performance with classroom expectations.

The first 15 minutes of this episode highlight my journey through sports at the high school level and up through my time working at Vanderbilt University. The last segment gives listeners the opportunity to understand what McBalla means exactly.
