Ballin' Out - The HBO Ballers Recap Show Dave Collins

Dave and Joel return with noted Rockologist Chris Wade to take stock of the current STATE OF THE ROCK in the year of our lord 2023.

Well folks, this is it. The series finale of Ballers. Things get emotional as Dave and Joel recap the final episode of the show and take a walk down memory lane to discuss how the various plot lines, character arcs, locations and cool suits have changed and evolved over the past five seasons.
The episode begins with a discussion about the recent Elizabeth Warren interview in Entertainment Weekly where she's asked exclusively about her love of the show. Dave and Joel feel seen by the fact that the presidential candidate has many of the same takes and opinions as themselves. 
They also take a step back to look at the show as a whole by asking what the show wants us to think about money, power, capitalism and the character of Spencer/The Rock going forward.

On this, the second to last episode ever in the history of Ballers, Dave and Joel gather to bid farewell to the story arc of Charles Greane and his meteoric rise up the ranks of NFL management. They begin with a look at the Spencer/Joe relationship and the hasty resolution of what has been a season-long feud between the two main characters. They also applaud the 10/10 performance by "Swole Elon Musk" aka the owner of the LA Rams in the Ballers multiverse. They conclude the episode with a look at all the other plot lines and make predictions for how the series will play out in the upcoming series finale episode. On this episode, Dave and Joel jump right in and discuss Spencer finally making his big push for the players to have lifetime healthcare, and how it doesn’t go quite as planned. After a big breakdown of the outdoor conference room where the meeting is held, our hosts debate how it is that Spencer continually gets bested in whatever role he’s asked to play. They also look at Charles and his declining health, and whether we’ll see him in yet another job by the end of the season. Also, a quick check-in with the Ballers romantic relationships, with Joe being broken up with by his work GF as well as Jason totally botching the proposal. On this very special episode of Ballin' Out, Dave and Joel are joined by their friend, writer and comedian Jen D'Angelo. Jen is world-famous for her love and affection for Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson and might possibly be the preeminent "rock-ologist" currently operating in the United States.
After discussing her ground-breaking meeting with The Rock, they then dive into the details of the episode. They begin at the end, with the shooting of Kisan, and discuss exactly what we're to believe the show wants us to think of him and the choices surrounding his downfall. They also discuss the introduction of the Riot Games offices, Charles' meeting with Alvin Kamara and Spencer's continued quarantine that prevents him from interacting with real live humans. We're back, baby! After some scorching hot takes melted the audio recordings from last week, Dave and Joel return to recap their favorite episode of the season thus far. They begin with a sad but honest assessment of their fitness routines and then dive right into the fact that Spencer is now the full owner of an NFL franchise.
