Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

Smack dab in the middle of Eden is the "BUT" tree. All the other trees are good for food and pleasing to the eye, BUT...It is the CAUTION tree, the FORBIDDEN tree, the COMMANDMENT tree and the TRUST tree.
This "do NOT" tree is the central object of mankind's rebellion against God. It is at this object where not only the cautions of God are questioned, but the character of God is doubted. If you wake up and see a TREE OF LIFE, you are in for a wonderful day.
It is a marker that your relationship with God has been restored, you are a believer, that you are in heaven and that you are going to be there forever.
It is a MERCY that our access to the TREE OF LIFE was forbidden when we were in our fallen state of broken fellowship. He has created us for eternal fellowship with Him.

Your Critical Element S1e11 Gen2:4
You were made with some very common stuff of our world: Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, etc. All of that is in every handful of dirt on our planet.
You were also made of the most rare element possible: THE BREATH OF LIFE which is the BREATH OF GOD. This makes you permanent. This makes you planned. And this makes you PRECIOUS.
Your CRITICAL ELEMENT isn't carbon, it is the BREATH OF GOD. This changes everything.

Pause before the applause S1e10 Gen2:3
There is a sweet moment after a wonderful piece of music. It is the silence, the REST that comes AFTER the beautiful creation, and BEFORE what comes next, applause. God's 6 day creation is like that beautiful music. The silence is GOD's rest. the Sabbath is the Pause Before the Applause. The applause then, is our response to what God has done.
God blesses the sabbath. God makes the day holy. He is the MAIN MOVER of the Sabbath. He pauses to punctuate His wonderful work. Join me in appreciating it all.
