Welcome to the first episode of our brand-new Chairlift Chat Speaker Series! In this series, we will be interviewing industry professionals, athletes, and anyone else in the skiing world who has a compelling story to tell. We will be releasing them here on our blog, on our YouTube channel, as well as through a brand new SkiEssentials.com Podcast available on all your favorite podcast streaming apps.
For the first episode, we interview legendary skier Mike Hattrup. Mike’s foray into the skiing world first started as a successful competitive mogul skier. His talent in that field caught the attention of Greg Stump, the now infamous filmmaker responsible for iconic films like Blizzard of Aaahh’s, License to Thrill, and many more. Mike’s skiing earned him a spot as one of the featured skiers in many of these films, through which he forever left his mark on the sport of skiing. Mike went on to product development and brand responsibilities for K2, and these days he is the US Alpine Product Manager for Fischer. We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Mike and chatting about his past, present, and future.
