Just a podcast with a couple of guys chatting sport over some chicken and beer

Episode 19 - David Haye v Tony Bellew, Football on Social Media and NBA

Episode 19 - David Haye v Tony Bellew, Football on Social Media and NBA

And we’re back! Well not really… Jas is flying solo this episode as Nish is on some man flu flex, but the show must go on! Jas has got a beer at the ready and knocked up some last minute chicken to munch while going through some of the latest sports stories in what is the last episode of 2016! That’s right, the guys are taking a little break for the holidays.

The boxing writer David Payne joins Jas to go look forward to next year’s David Haye v Tony Bellew bout. After all the shenanigans and entertainment from the press conference—which was hilarious—David gives his take on how he sees this fight going. Will the Hayemaker end this one quickly with Bellew having to step a weight class? David gives his opinion, plus a little word on Conor McGregor landing a boxing licence and a possible date for Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko.

Nish manages to muster up some energy (muppet) and has his ear chewed off with a rant from Jas. According to him, football as a whole on social media can be an absolutely frustrating, annoying and cringey experience, so he gets that all off his chest… bet Nish wishes he never bothered picking up the phone now.

And our last guest is our NBA dude Sal Mitha of Sport Eagle TV. In America, basketball on Christmas day is like an institution—the fixtures on this day are the second most important fixtures after opening day. Sal looks ahead to the pick of the games, including his New York Knicks against Jas’ Boston Celtics, plus Golden State Warriors look for revenge against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With Nish going AWOL, Jas had to whackck up some chicken, so he threw some peri peri chicken in to the tomato pasta that his wife had cooked for dinner, real quick fix style. Beer wise, being all festive, he rolled with some Black Sheep Brewery’s Blitzen Ruby Christmas Ale.

We’re back on 20th January 2017! Have a wicked Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Episode 18 - England v India, Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor and Gareth Southgate

Episode 18 - England v India, Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor and Gareth Southgate

Yes yes, here we go... we back! Jas and Nish with another alternative look at some of the sports stories doing the rounds... all over some homemade chicken and ice cold brews.

Our favourite cricket dude Mark Machado stepped away from his Mama's birthday party to speak to the guys about England's tour of England. At the time of recording, India were up 1-0 in the series with the third test about to start, but Mark doesn't seem to be too optimistic about England's chances. They're not returning until February, so he thinks it's going to be a long long tour for them.

With all the rumours about a possible clash between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, Jas and Nish sift through the possibilities. Is it really even going to happen? Is this all hype from both of them? And who would win if it kicked off after Mayweather spilt his pint on McGregor?

And now that Gareth Southgate has finished his four game 'trial' as interim England manager, should he be given the job? Has he done enough? Even though he's unbeaten, do the performances cut it? Alex Roberts of Vital England chats it through with Jas and Nish.

Chicken wise, ‘Europe’ was thrown on the Chicken Dice in the last episode, so Nish has cooked up some French chicken and potatoes. Blue Moon Belgian White and Caledonian Coast to Coast were the chosen beers for this episode.

Episode 17 - Anthony Joshua, Alex Ferguson and Andy Murray

Episode 17 - Anthony Joshua, Alex Ferguson and Andy Murray

Forks and bottles up… it’s time for another round of Chicken and Beer. Jas and Nish are back to once again give you their unique take on some of the latest sports stories doing the rounds over a hot plate of chicken and some cold brews.

Jens Huiber of Sport Radio 360 is the first guest up in this episode and he joins the guys to have a look back at what’s been a hell of a year for Andy Murray. Earlier this month, he finally made it to number one in the men’s rankings for the first time in his career. How does this compare to his other achievements this season—including being the first man to retain his Tennis singles gold in the Olympics and winning another Wimbledon title? Are we looking at an era of Andy Murray now? Jens fills the boys in.

Also earlier this month, it was the 30th anniversary of Sir Alex Ferguson taking up the post as manager of Man Utd… and the rest is history! Jas and Nish pay tribute to arguably the greatest ever Football club manager with a look back at some of the most famous bits of his tenure—including signing Eric Cantona, kicking a boot at David Beckham and stopping the old skool drinking culture.

And our favourite boxing dude David Payne is back to take a look at the upcoming bout between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina. We were all hoping this would be Joshua v Klitschko, but it wasn’t to be! David fills the guys in on why he thinks that didn’t happen and what he thinks will be Joshua’s next move.

Chicken wise, ‘Asia’ was thrown on the Chicken Dice in the last episode, so Nish has cooked up some Thai Green Chicken Curry. To go with it, the boys had some Dunkel Fester from the Wychwood Brewery and Shipyard Brewing Co. American IPA.
