Angus Taylor's 'tripe' makes me feel ill

Angus Taylor's 'tripe' makes me feel ill

Angus Taylor (pictured) is influential and yet ill-informed and the tripe he served up during a recent ABC radio interview with host Fran Kelly left me feeling decidedly unwell.

Australia's Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction talks with confidence and yet illustrates that the essence of his job, the reason he holds the portfolio he has, appears beyond him.

He talks loudly, confidently, and even brashly about a topic he really doesn't understand.

Angela Frimberger talks about Veterinarians for Climate Action

Angela Frimberger talks about Veterinarians for Climate Action

Angela Frimberger (pictured) cares deeply about all aspects of the environment, particularly animals and is a founding board member of the near year-old Veterinarians for Climate Action (VFCA).

Angela and her husband, Antony Moore, run a rather special veterinary operation at Lake Innes near Port Macquarie in New South Wales - the clinic, Veterinary Oncology Consultants, is surrounded by land that has been maintained by Angela and Antony as a habitat for wildlife.

Beyond being actively involved with the VFCA, Angela, who is Climate Reality Project trained, has also set up Climate Vets.

Professor Ian Lowe, who wants to leave this a better world, chats with Climate Conversations

Professor Ian Lowe, who wants to leave this a better world, chats with Climate Conversations

Professor Ian Lowe has committed himself to do all he can to make this a better world.

The Griffiths University Professor works from his Sunshine Coast home and from there engages with a host of people, including spending some time chatting with Climate Conversations.

Climate Conversations first came across Professor Lowe at the Cooroy, Queensland, non-fiction book festival several years ago where he talked about his then-latest book, "A Big Fix".

However, since then he has written another book, "The Lucky Country? Reinventing Australia", something of an ironic look at Donald Horne's, "The Lucky Country".

Listen to the steady, and good sense of Ian Lowe.

Driven by the need to do something about the climate crisis, Juan Bejjani brings TEDx to Darlinghurst

Driven by the need to do something about the climate crisis, Juan Bejjani brings TEDx to Darlinghurst

Juan Bejjani is an honourable fellow for so eager was he to do something about the climate crisis that he went and became a TEDx organizer to bring the international ideas organization to Sydney's DarlingHurst to expose people to the boldest, bravest and freshest ideas; ideas aimed at addressing the crisis.

Juan and his small team have pulled together TEDxDarlinghurst on Thursday, October 15.

A small number of in-person guests will witness the actual event at Sydney's Australian National Maritime Museum, but many others will have the chance to participate virtually and the details can be found at the event website.

Mark Spencer talks about his 'baby' - the Climactic Collective

Mark Spencer talks about his 'baby' - the Climactic Collective

Mark Spencer (pictured at Melbourne's 2019 Sustainable Living Festival) convinced that collective action is essential if humanity is to address and learn to live with climate and so with that in mind he created and set up the "Climactic Collective"

Mark is what might be called a "podcast groupie" and so having an audio background or life-long interest, it was only natural he would lean to towards creating a collective of podcasts, hence the "Climactic Collective".

Nearly 20 podcasts can be found on the Climactic Collective and they are all, in one way or another, about telling stories; stories about how people are living with the reality of the climate crisis.

Migrating Climate Conversations to the Climactic Collective

Migrating Climate Conversations to the Climactic Collective

After nearly two years with the American-based Buzzsprout, I (Robert McLean - pictured) have elected to migrate Climate Conversations to the Climatic Collective.

This is my first episode with a new podcast host and so is something of a trial.

Before migrating I talked with Geelong friend Mik Aidt, the man behind "The Sustainable Hour", and clinical psychologist, Bronwyn Gresham, who is afiliated the Climate Collection and maintains the podcast, "Feeling the Change".
