Ep. 15 The WInning Mindset: Tips for Priming Your Brain for Ballroom Dance Competitions The Dancing Housewife Podcast (formerly Coffee Break with The Dancing Housewife)

    • Artes cênicas

In this week's episode we're doing a deep dive into something amateur dancers (and even some professionals) often neglect as they get ready for competition and that is mental preparation. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not
minimizing the importance of doing rounds or rehearsing your routines and drilling technique. We all know muscle memory is vital to not only success, but fun on the dance floor! But let's face it, your brain runs the show and no amount of physical preparation is going to make up
or a poor mindset. In order to be the best you can be on game day, you've got to incorporate strategies that prepare your brain as well as your body into your pre-competition routine.

It can't be emphasized enough... the key to preventing run-of-the-mill pre-competition jitters from turning into full-blown anxiety is what goes on between your ears and that's why I'm sharing some easy mental prep tools for you to incorporate into your pre-competition routine. Grab a pen and a pad of paper because trust me, you're going to want to take notes!
