Dr. Sharon Hull is a family physician who has navigated several major career transitions. She started in private practice, moved into medical education, and has taken on multiple leadership positions.
Along the way, she completed a master’s degree in public health and other certifications. She worked in several leadership positions for 12 years at the Southern Illinois University College of Medicine. Then she moved to Northeastern Ohio Medical University in various academic roles. She later moved to Duke University School of Medicine, first as Chief of Family Medicine, completing her tenure there as Founding Director of the Executive Coaching Program. She started her coaching and consulting business in 2011, focusing on executive coaching, and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation.
In today’s episode, Sharon explains the importance of being intentional about developing your “career by design,” how to begin the process by defining what matters to you, and other concepts described in her new book Professional Careers by Design: A Handbook for the Bespoke Life.
