Mat-CAPs - das steht für "Maturity-based Corrective Adjustment Procedure", übersetzt also in etwa "Reife-basiertes Korrekturverfahren". Dabei handelt es sich um einen Vorschlag australischer Forscher, wie man Leistungen im Schwimmen durch eine statistische Prozedur im Nachhinein korrigieren kann, um potentiell fairere Vergleiche zwischen gleichaltrigen, aber biologisch/körperlich unterschiedlich reifen Sportlern ziehen zu können. Wie genau das funktoniert und ob das Wettkämpfe und andere Leistungsvergleiche im Schwimmen tatsächlich fairer macht, darüber diskutieren in dieser Folge Ilka Staub und Lukas Mundelsee.
