Adam graduated from Dartmouth in 1997 where he was the 1994 World Junior Champion and the 1997 NCAA Champion in the shot put. After college, Adam became was the silver medalist in the 2000 Olympic Games, gold medalist in the 2004 Olympic Games and gold medalist in the 2005 World Championships in the Shot Put. We had a great conversation about his rise to stardom, college selection, training philosophies, the mental aspect of competition and overcoming obstacles in post collegiate athletics.

Since college, Rudy has furthermore qualified for 2 World Championships and is now the best hammer thrower in the world with a throw of 80.72 meters. On the podcast, we dived into Rudy's experiences in track and field as well as his philosophy on hammer and training that has helped to make him the best in the world. Graduate of Princeton University, Russell is originally from the city of Philadelphia and has a PR of 1:46.40 in the 800 and 46.95 in the 400. Russell also received the coveted Spirit of Princeton Award and was pivotal in saving Brown track and field and bringing awareness to the racial disparities within collegiate athletics with his article, “Brown University, If You Were Actually Serious About Racial Justice You Would Not be Cutting the Men’s Track Team.” Russell is an incredible person with so many talents and we had an incredible conversation. If you are interested in radical disparities with college athletics, the transition from college to professional track, mental health within sport, and the struggles that come with competing in Division 1 track and field while being involved in other facets of college life, please tune into this podcast!

After college, he postponed his track career to play WR for the 49ers, winning a Super Bowl in 1984. In 1986, Renaldo returned to track, fundamentally changing the sport with the "Nehemiah Rule."     Hi friends and followers of Gold Insight Podcast! On the podcast we had an incredible athlete and an even better person, Athing Mu. Athing is born and raised in Trenton NJ (609 represent) and is one of the brightest upcoming stars in the world of track and field. Athing, at the ripe age of 18, holds the American record in the 600m, is a 4x NBN National Champion, and was very close to being the first women's athlete in history to win the 200, 400, 800, and 1500 in the same AAU national championship. We very much look forward to seeing Athing walk in the steps of Sydney McLaughlin and become yet another NJ teenager to qualify for the Olympic team and the 609 will surely rally around her for it. She’s also going to be at Texas A&M next year to run for their program. We had a great conversation (with much better audio quality) and I hope you enjoy!
