The world right now is full of “Geshems” (the Hebrew is Gashmu). Individuals whose names will be remembered for trying to mischaracterize the work of God’s people with the intent of stopping God’s purposes. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book. They try to entice Christians into meetings and conversations for the sake of interrupting the work that they’ve been called to and to do them harm. But now is a time for good leadership and good leaders stay steady at the tasks that God has called them to. Like Nehemiah, good leaders ignore the Geshems of the world.

The state of California admitted that over the last 5 years they have spent an estimated $24 Billion dollars to help tackle the state’s homelessness crisis. Additionally they admit that they can’t really report on how the homeless have benefited in any substantial way since, according to one California Senator Dave Cortese, what they have presented is a “data desert” showing an unsettling lack of transparency at every level. Brian breaks down the numbers and compares it to the results of the Grants Pass Gospel Rescue Mission.
