God's promise to Abraham is superior to the law given at Mt. Sinai as it brings hope, reveals grace, and sets sinners free through Jesus Christ. In Galatians 3-15-29 we hear of the unchangeable nature of God's promise, the inferiority of God's law to God's promise and the fulfillment of God's promise in Jesus Christ.

Forgiveness is essential in the Christian life as it reflects God's grace, transforms hearts, and requires a willing heart to forgive even without repentance, ultimately glorifying God and exalting Jesus. LD 51
