The Colorado Avalanche found themselves down again to the Dallas Stars. This time by a score of 4-0, which proved to be too much this time. The Avs comeback was successful is Game 1, in Game 2 the had to put all their comeback eggs in the 3rd period basket, and they just ran out of time.

That is the good part of the game, but there are also some aspects to it the Avs would like to forget.

Three goals in the first period for the Dallas Stars left too much time left for the Colorado Avalanche to mount a come back, and that is exactly what they did.

Miles Wood potted the game winner in overtime and Alexandar Georgiev came up huge in the the OT session to give the Avs a 4-3 win and a 1-0 series lead.

It's back to business for the Colorado Avalanche. The rest period is over and Tuesday night they will be back on the ice for Game 1 of Round 2 to face another division rival in the Dallas Stars.

Dallas sent the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights packing Sunday night in a Game 7 thriller. Now the two division rivals will meet up in the playoffs, where the Avs are looking for some revenge since their last playoff meeting that saw Dallas take Game 7 in OT.

Not many people expected this. The Colorado Avalanche beat the Winnipeg Jets in their first round series in five games, winning four in a row after dropping game one. In a series many thought was a dead ringer for seven games, the Avalanche played almost perfect hockey in all aspects of the game. Now they get some rest and await their round two opponent between the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights.
