Daniel is the youngest of six children born to John and Joyce Bonham. Having moved to Tigard when he was a year old, Daniel graduated from Tigard High School in 1995, before attending Linfield College in McMinnville. Daniel met his wife Lori and they began their family the same year he graduated Linfield with a Bachelor’s degree in Business in 1998. During college, Daniel started his first business as a painting contractor and was also able to study abroad at the University of Costa Rica for a semester.

Upon graduating from Linfield, Daniel acquired employment from Evergreen International Aviation in McMinnville. Evergreen exposed Daniel to significant business opportunities that took him around the world and offered substantial experience in Washington DC engaging in the political process. While at Evergreen Daniel served as the Director of Sales and Marketing, where he was actively involved in contract negotiations, pricing/cost analysis, temporary operational assignments, human resource management and training, company sale/acquisition, joint venture opportunities, litigation and lobbying. In 2006, Daniel left Evergreen and joined RB Rubber as a Sales Manager, before purchasing Maupin’s Stoves and Spas in 2007.

Since purchasing Maupin’s Stoves & Spas, Daniel has joined the Hearth Patio & BBQ Association and has served as a regional director on the Oregon HPBA affiliate board of directors. In 2014, Daniel attended the HPBA Government Affairs program in Washington DC. The government affairs program was a week-long intensive training program designed to enhance the overall lobbying efforts of the industry with the current agenda of keeping wood stoves and gas fireplaces efficient and affordable.

The move to The Dalles in April of 2007 was a move home for Lori. Jennifer and Jack were both able to attend Dry Hollow - the same elementary school as Lori had attended. Outside of work, Daniel has enjoyed coaching soccer, basketball and baseball over the years, most recently serving as the 8th grade boys basketball coach at The Dalles Middle School. The Bonham family attends the Alliance Church in Hood River and has participated in Mission trips to Guatemala and Thailand. Daniel has also volunteered his time serving on The Dalles city budget committee and Urban Renewal budget committee. In 2014, Daniel and Lori rejuvenated The Dalles Booster Club where they were able to raise over $100,000 in two years enhancing the high school athletic experience to the student athletes.

Daniel’s breadth of experience in business and life will enable him to effectively serve and advocate for the residents of District 59. His desire and passion for helping people in conjunction with his business acumen will make him the leader that District 59 needs and deserves.
