Interview with Javier Morillas, Founder of Niwa SmartGardens

Javier is the founder of Niwa The world’s first smartphone-controlled plant growing system that enables you to grow the freshest, healthiest food on Earth. Niwa recently exceeded thier 100k fundraising goal on the Kickstarter platform and will soon be moving into production

Javier is an engineer by trade and he lives and works in his hometown in Almeria, Spain.

After 12 years at the Martin Agency and reaching the position of Senior Vice President, Katherine Wintsch purchased her project, the Mom Complex and began working to make it a self-sustaining business. In this interview she explains how her pursuit of personal enlightenment gave her the confidence to make the leap in January, 2014 as well as details of the people, products, and philosophies that guide her success.

How do you innovate? 
Never before have the passions and painpoints, highs and lows of moms been documented into usable data for companies to use when developing and branding new and existing products. The Mom Complex is further upstream than an advertising agency and has conducted customer studies for valuable data on moms. Using this data they have developed methods to educate companies and develop products in partnership with them.
