    We again talk about the 41st annual Hunger Walkathon West CROP Walk on Sunday, May 5, 2024. With us today are: Nick Menninga, Chair of the HWWCROP Walk; Cynthia Mobley from First Baptist Church of Melrose Park Food Pantry and Nick Gliha, Community Engagement Specialist, Church World Service (CWS).
    Nick Menninga, Chair, speaks about the in person event this year. It has been 3 years since we had an in person walk and it is exciting to here about the teams and events for Sunday, May 1, 2024. You can always register at https://events.crophungerwalk.org/cropwalks/event/oakparkil
    Cynthia Mobley talks about First Baptist Church of Melrose Park, IL Food Pantry. Their history and evolution of the food pantry and Hunger Walkathon West CROP Walk and her participation on the planning committee.
    Lastly, Nick Gliha, Community Engagement Specialist, Church World Serivce (CWS). Nick speaks to the walk ranking as number 8 in the nation of over 500 walks.
    He gives us two stories:

This is now a yearly event in which people pledge to eat for one week the same rations that a refugee eats in a camp after fleeing their country.The Ration Challenge will be held from Sunday, June 13 – Saturday, June 19, 2021.
