Rick Ross And Funk Flex Clown DJ Envy Over Real Estate Fraud Allegations
According to Vibe.com. ick Ross and Funk Flex have thrown jabs at DJ Envy in light of accusations surrounding his involvement in an alleged real estate ponzi scheme.
On Thursday night (Sept. 28), Ross appeared on Flex’s Hot 97 radio show ahead of the release of he and Meek Mill’s new single “Shaq & Kobe.” During his time on the station, the MMG boss took the opportunity to ridicule the Breakfast Club host and mixtape legend about being tied to the alleged fraud scheme involving his real estate venture. Earlier this summer, DJ Envy was included in a lawsuit against Cesar and Jennifer Pina, who are accused of defrauding investors of $1.5 million under the guise of numerous false promises and fraudulent statements.” According to the suit, the Pinas, the operators of Flip 2 Dao, “convinced plaintiffs Anthony Barone and Anthony Martinito to invest into a real estate project in Paterson, New Jersey. Envy is alleged to have introduced Barone and Marinito to fellow Hip-Hop figure DJ Clue and entrepreneur and influencer Gary “Vee” Vaynerchuck at a lunch meeting to help seal the deal. The plaintiffs say they became involved with the Pinas after hearing Envy speaking of the success of his real estate ventures on radio and his work with the Pinas to buy depreciating homes in the New Jersey area. However, multiple delays on the construction of the property caused the investor to grow concerned, resulting in him filing suit against the Pinas and Envy.
Envy has since denied the allegations, claiming he wasn’t involved directly with Flip 2 Dao and requesting that the lawsuit against him be dismissed. He also accused the plaintiffs of naming him in the suit due to his fame and popularity. The Pinas have since been hit with additional lawsuits and have been accused by other real estate moguls of committing fraud against their clients.
