Inbetweenity: The Green Pod- Ep. 5 What's this COP and Who Polices It?
The COP is arguably the most important meeting of civil society, the private sector and governments around the issue of Climate Change that pierces through our lives from bus rides to plane rides, the market and the water in our pipes but what really happens at the COP?
Sumeet Betancourt is a Monitoring, Reporting and Verification Officer with the Forestry Department in Belize currently on a young professionals fellowship with the UNFCCC Fellowship in Bonn, Germany. He has been to two UNFCCC COPs as a junior negotiator and while he considers himself a rookie until #3, he does a thorough job of helping us demystify this big meeting of minds that for us in the Caribbean is a ticking clock.

Inbetweenity: The Green Pod- Ep. 4: Escazu Who?
Escazu who? The Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation and Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean is probably the most important Agreement to be signed in the regional space. We spoke to Senator Janelle Chanona, Vice President of OCEANA in Belize. She’s the representative for the Belize Network of NGOs comprised mostly of environmental organizations that were pivotal to Belize’s ratification of Escazu.
