Yelling at concrete isbi-weekly podcast for coffee and conversation, taking a look at the life and interests of the guests who chat with me as well as taking an introverted look at topics I'm interested in!
Graham is an artist and passionate creative who thrives on generating conversation and discussion in a more abstract manner than just posing questions so three weeks out of each month with a one week breather he sits down to have a cuppa and chat. When guests come they bring their own topic so every episode is lead by the guests interests and what they want to discuss and the solo casts are wandering thoughts on subjects which interest Graham. The goal is keep the subjects diverse and give people a space to just have a chill and talk about what's really going on.
You can catch the show three times a month on a Friday and follow it through the year as Graham brings you a range of guests and topics. The key word is conversation so we don't edit we just talk and that allows us to relax and really get into subjects. I hope you'll join us.

Episode 253 - Seven things you cant say on Youtube.

Episode 253 - Seven things you cant say on Youtube.

The internet is an odd place, as discussed recently with WTF Pots the length and breadth of what can get you in hot water with the powers that be of any platform is a real challenge for artists and not just in the modern era. In 1966 Lenny Bruce listed out nine words he'd been arrested for in 1972 George Carlin made a statement on his album Class Clown to follow it up with seven words you cant say on TV.
So I thought I'd channel my inner stand up and change the format slightly and discuss all the things you cant discuss on Youtube without the watchful eye of the moderators taking a look. As we discuss not the topics themselves but the premise of what these items create you too can join us as we talk about how to get banned on Youtube.
Here's hoping it doesn't get taken down.

.This week i sit down with purveyor of funny and filth Sarah Sharp. AKA WTFPots. There is no end to the wonderful things her mind can do with imagery and pottery.
Recommended by a previous guest we catch up to talk the challenges of being an artist on social media especially when the work you make no longer fits the "Acceptable" terms and conditions of the platform. So quick come join us before Youtube bans us. Even though I marked this episode for adults only and gave you plenty of warning!

Episode 251 - The fundamentals of creating.

Episode 251 - The fundamentals of creating.

The first fundamental of creating is "F*** your fundamentals" Or rather that the best way to create anything is to consider that your core values and what you're looking to get out of things is often different to someone else.
So whether you're looking to understand the fundamentals of photography, Illustration, sculpture, baking, building, music or anything which requires some level of method and technique to complete My first suggestion is to simply just try and work with what you have and then build on top of your first fail.

This week I sit down with Spadgerina aka Sarah who is something intriguing to my grammar deficit brain which is a copywriter and wordsmith.
As someone who fully utilizes visual language as a way of communicating and with a podcast which is based around encouraging discussion and communication it felt about the right time to sit down and catch up.
In doing so this week we discuss just how little we know of one another despite both of us having a fairly solid online presence and how we've know each other through other people for years but are both very guarded with our own lives.
In a world where people are living online and exposing every inch of their day it was great to catch up. Talk a little personally of the why we are as we are and see just what we could learn!

Episode 249 - You don't still watch cartoons do you?

Episode 249 - You don't still watch cartoons do you?

Who watches cartoons? Should adults watch cartoons? Is it ok to enjoy cartoons? Mystery ain't it. It seems a generational divide more than anything where adults who play with lego, parents who play video games and people who enjoy oddity are setup to be knocked down when they meet people who are older.
This week I wax lyrical on a topic of when i was questioned by an older woman in a lift and discuss how your interest in novelty doesn't define how good or bad you are at taking responsibility within your own life.

Coming straight of the back of a recommendation from a previous guest this week we catch up with Jas Ingram who is also known online as Captain Lovehandles!
Jas is a man with a wealth experience in art and has been doing his own thing in a way I hugely respect for years. He's an creator and one of the few people in the world Licensed to create Ratfink art work legally. (https://www.ratfink.com/about-big-daddy-roth/the-estate-of-ed-roth If you don't knwo who Ratfink is). Whilst also being just a huge creative in his own right. Creating original illustrations and creations.
This week we sat down to explore interests. Much like Jas I have a wealth of interests and its seemingly never ending and was delighted to find Jas has a back catalogue as well. So as we talk and discuss pop culture, Luchadores, Scooby Doo, Batman and how establishing a style can really help you find your voice, grab a coffee and join us as we yell at concrete.
You can find Jas's work below:
