Encountering the living Word of God is vital in having a burning passion for Jesus and sharing the Gospel.



In the Walk to Emmaus story(Luke 24:13-35), Jesus opens the 2 disciple's eyes to scripture, and their response "were our hearts not burning within us?" is a direct result to hearing and understanding that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.



When you think of a passion for Jesus, where are you in this process? Where do you want to be in this process?



Here are a few things you can do in moving towards a greater passion for Jesus:

1. Admit to God that your fire is dwindling

2. Actively pray and ask God to set your heart on fire again.

3. Read the Bible and gain a better understanding of who exactly God is and what He has done for us throughout history.

When life gets hard and falls apart there are 3 THINGS we can do...

1. Give Up (Jump Ship)
2. Coast (And Become Dead Weight to Everyone Else)
3. Push Forward (Even When It's Hard)

We have the ability to PUSH THROUGH the chaos and ACHIEVE CHANGE, but it requires PERSEVERANCE. When God calls us He doesn't say it will be easy, in fact He says IT WILL BE HARD. (See John 15:20) The question is, will we give up when life falls apart, or will we push forward?

What God asks of us IS NOT EASY, but He gives us the ABILITY TO ACHIEVE these things in our life. The KEY TO GOD'S PROMISES is a life long journey of knowing we can't do life without God, seeking intentional time with Jesus, and a continuous walking in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION of the things of this world. God asks us MAKE A COMMITMENT that is costly, but it will give us the GREATEST REWARD EVER!

How do you STOP FEELING STUCK? How do you rekindle the fire you once had? How do you STEP OUT OF FEAR and walk in boldness? Paul Childers shares how transformation requires COMMITMENT and takes COURAGE. A few years ago God asked Him to begin to memorize books of the Bible. How do you start to memorize the Bible? How do you start to memorize anything? Over the course of months Paul began to learn the Book of Mark verse by verse and chapter by chapter. It wasn't easy, but GROWTH TAKES COMMITMENT. Through this IMMERSION in the Word of God his heart began to rekindle.

The lack of relationship He was feeling faded as He fully committed to studying the Word and spending time with Jesus. It COST him some of his time, desires, and wants, but it FUFILLED his life, heart, and needs. By REMOVING THE DISTRACTIONS and FOCUSING on the TRUE SOURCE of fulfillment CHANGE BEGAN and transformation unfolded.
