A vine and its branches was Jesus’s chosen illustration for what our fullest experience of life would look like. He is the vine and we are His branches. Branches can know the immense joy of bearing a bounty of fruit but only when they remain connected to the vine. It is in the vine that our existence is magnified and it is the power of the vine coursing through our veins that enables us to bring fruit into a world that desperately needs it.
