One of the best ways to create understanding, is to hear someone’s voice. Literally to listen in as a real person invites you into their world, into their own story. Breaking Through is a collection of the voices and stories of Communities In Schools of the Big Country, where our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Phoebe
We have met an awe inspiring young lady this school year named Phoebe who attends Madison Middle School in Abilene ISD. If you have read the Abilene Reporter News, watched the local Fox (KIDY) affiliate news broadcasts, or attended the United Way of Abilene annual luncheon, you have already heard a little bit about Phoebe. In this episode of Breaking Through, we talk with Phoebe's mom, Sara. Sara also happens to be the founder and Executive Director of Reach For a Difference, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families who experience autism.
