Rae joined us for an overview of the Nordic model, addressing issues in sex work. The group discussed the tension between anarchist beliefs and the practical realities of exploitation, agreeing on the necessity of taking action to prevent exploitation regardless of personal beliefs. They acknowledged the challenges of balancing ideals with realism and the importance of standing up against issues, despite their inevitability.Addressing Prostitution Complexities and ChallengesWe discussed the complexities and challenges related to prostitution. They acknowledged that many women engaged in prostitution have been subjected to abuse and addiction, and that criminalization of prostitution could lead to further exploitation and dangerous working conditions. They also noted that the legalization of prostitution, as exemplified by Germany's approach, has not necessarily resulted in improved conditions for workers, with many coming from exploitative situations and languages backgrounds.
