Ep #78 The Crowning Jewel: Storytelling in Song by Karyn Lynn Grant Have you ever wondered what it might be like to take a journey through ancient times into the lives of the women in the Old Testament? 
What did the women in Old Testament times feel?  What kinds of trials did they face?  How did they overcome their challenges?  When their confidence in the world in which they lived faltered, who buoyed them up?  Who inspired them to keep putting one foot in front of the other? 
After losing her voice for four years, Karyn prayed fervently to be able to write and sing more songs about women in the scriptures.  After completing "A Joyful Heart", songs about women in the New Testament, Karyn compiled a new CD, "The Crowning Jewel" -- with a fresh perspective about the women in The Old Testament.
"The Crowning Jewel" follows the stories in song about women with  extraordinary faith in God.   The women of The Old Testament had a trial of their faith much like ours today.  Unlike the women of The New Testament who were permitted to see Christ in the flesh, the Old Testament women, like women of this Latter Day, had to learn how to walk by faith in order to prepare the hearts of the children for the Messiah's birth.
Songs included in this episode, are about Eve, Sarah, Hannah, Queen Esther, Ruth & Naomi, Lot's Wife and more.

Ep #77 Women Who Walked with Jesus: Storytelling in Song  Have you ever wondered what it might be like to take a journey through ancient times into the lives of the women in the scriptures?  What did the women in ancient times feel?  What trials did they face?  How did they overcome their challenges?  When their confidence in the world in which they lived faltered, who buoyed them up?  Who inspired them to keep putting one foot in front of the other? 

As a young mother, Karyn began asking questions like these.  Quietly, in the middle of the night, she would rise to nurse her baby back to sleep and while she did she turned to the scriptures to find solace and comfort.  The pages seemed to open miraculously to the very story she needed, in exactly the right moment; to build her faith and confidence in the Savior.  Slowly, she learned to trust in Him.  Day be day, she began giving Him her heart as she faced the trials in her own life.

Although these journalings came to her in the wee  hours of the morning over two decades ago, Karyn knows that her experiences at that season in her life paved the way for her to appreciate the joys she is now experiencing in her present marriage and specifically chosen life path in ”Mending Broken Hearts with Healing Arts”.  For the past two decades since these meditations and songs were written, Karyn has been ”Joy Coaching” those who have lost loved ones through divorce, break-up and death.
