She was not afraid and tired but rather sick and tired of disrespectful treatment on the Montgomery Alabama Transit System.

April 1955 Aurelia filed a lawsuit. Among the plaintiffs were Claudette Colvin, Susie McDonald and Mary Louise Smith. They had had enough too.
