SEASON 3 EPISODE 9- With Arlene Bailey I Am A Diva Podcast
-
- Music Interviews
We are back with Season Three, episode nine of 'I Am A Diva Podcast'.
With myself Edgy V, as your lovely host & Arlene Bailey. Arlene hails from Sallins, Co. Kildare and as a recording artist she has embraced country music in a way that has gained her much recognition.
She left home at 17 and went on tour with a band but after a few years of working the club scene in the UK she decided it was time to go solo and signed a recording contract with Crashed Music in Dublin.
As a solo artist her talent brought her many places around the world including tours of the Middle East, Europe and eventually to the United States where she made a temporary home for herself.
During her time in America Arlene played the Irish scene in New York and Boston and recorded 2 albums in Nashville.
Her debut album 'Chain of love' was released in 2003 and the title track reached No 51 in the European country charts and No 9 in France.
Her second album 'I am woman' was released in 2007 and Arlene found herself working alongside some of Nashvilles finest musicians.
She returned to Ireland for a promotional tour and received an award for best country newcomer in 2007.
In this episode Arlene tells us all about:
*When her interest in music began & a gross funny childhood story that followed?
*Her opinion from living and touring all over the world & what each country does better in the music industry?
*What is her opinion & experience been of the inequality of radio play, particularly in her genre?
*What advice she can give women starting out in music from her extensive experience in it through the years?
*What her negative experiences have been through the years & why it’s so important to trust your gut & much, much more!
