1) Gospel - Mk 9:30-37 - Jesus and His disciples left from there and began a journey through Galilee, but He did not wish anyone to know about it. He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be handed over to men and they will kill Him, and three days after His death the Son of Man will rise.” But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to question Him.



They came to Capernaum and, once inside the house, He began to ask them, “What were you arguing about on the way?” But they remained silent. For they had been discussing among themselves on the way who was the greatest. Then He sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” Taking a child, he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, He said to them, “Whoever receives one child such as this in My Name, receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but the One Who sent Me.”

1) Gospel - Jn 19:25-34 - Standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”



Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine.



So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to His Mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His Head, He handed over the Spirit.



Now since it was preparation day, in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken and they be taken down. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His Legs, but one soldier thrust his lance into His side, and immediately Blood and water flowed out.

Science and Nature - what does this have to do with Fatima? Wartime, terrorism, natural disasters - what do these things have to do with Fatima? Fatima's own Miracle of the Sun proves that the Mother of God can take something, like the sun, and make it her plaything. If we entrust the Nature around us by doing penance to Our Lord, Mary will offer us ultimate protection. Wars, natural disasters, and terrorism can all be prevented by our Mother. In the Fatima apparitions, we can hear the conditions of peace, if only we listen to our Mother when she says "Do what He tells you".
