BLACKLINING MISSION STATEMENT: BLACKLINING is an intellectual retaliation against the criminalization and exploitation of Black people.  We are shedding light on the dark history of America: a history of oppressive systems built on the backs of Black people that continues to weigh them down today. Working through the diverse points of view that inform the Black Lives Matter movement, we will examine the connections and conflicts within reform and abolition, conventional and unconventional protesting, and action and performance through research-based analysis, personal experiences, creative contributions, and more. We advocate for empathy and awareness of Black oppression. It is only through dismantling  historic systems of oppression that we can write a future based in equity.
