Episode 38 - Five Questions with Marcus and Lauren - Part 1 of 2 Unterwegs, the en route Podcast
-
- Religion & Spirituality
In today's episode, Mike goes back to his 5-Questions series with Marcus Dip Silas and Lauren Usherwood Dip Silas.
Digital Nomads from different cultural upbringings (Marcus from Malaysia and Lauren from the US), they have navigated life together both in the US, where they met and married and Malaysia where they moved the day after their wedding. They are currently living in Minnesota but on a recent trip to Berlin (among other places) they sat down with Mike to have a conversation based on the following 5 questions:#
What is a significant transition you have experienced?
What’s one of the most important risks you have taken and why?
What is one decision you wish you didn’t make?
What role does faith play in your life? (Or Who do you look up to for inspiration or mentorship)
What are your current projects or what are you working on next?
In today's episode, we don't make it past question 1! We spend a lot of time discussing the challenges of intercultural marriages, and Lauren shares a beautiful illustration from Danish theologian and philosopher Søren Kierkegaard (whose name Mike consistently mispronounces throughout the episode!)
