What usually happens when you are tired and exhausted? People and situations start to demand things of you, things you might feel you're not equipped or energized to do. Jesus and his disciples just needed a little alone time, potentially weary from the stint of great ministry they had done, but the crowds wouldn't let up. In the midst of their "lack" was the most apparent opportunity for compassion.

Typically we think about compassionate ministries and things that meet physical needs. However, Philip in Acts 8 shows us his compassion through meeting the spiritual needs. He shared Jesus with them.
