What Is IDD with Taylor McLeod, LMSW

This week, Kat has one of her friends, Taylor McLeod, LMSW, on to help educate us on intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Taylor is the manager of a crisis team for individuals with IDD and has a heart for helping populations that are underserved and misunderstood. Are We Going Through A Mental Health Overload with Liz Plank

Are We Going Through A Mental Health Overload with Liz Plank

This week, Kat is joined by Liz Plank (@femistabulous) to shake things up a bit. This episode went in a totally different direction than Kat had hoped-- in the BEST way!

Liz is a filmmaker, award-winning journalist, international bestselling author, producer, podcast host and more. She’s the CEO of Liz Plank Productions and is a columnist for MSNBC and has been listed as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30, Mediaite’s Most Influential in News Media, and Marie Claire’s Most Powerful Women, and was named one of the World’s Most Influential People in Gender Policy by Apolitical. She is a force and someone Kat has been dying to have on the show. In this episode you will hear a genuine conversation with two people who are processing the possibility that we've been flooded with too much content.

Why does everything seem hard, bad, scary, and exhausting these days? Have we taken "it's ok to not be ok" too far? Are our boundaries becoming too rigid and are we losing the ability to find grace within our human relationships? These are all things Kat and Liz discuss and things that could be the missing piece to the puzzle that you keep looking for in the next self-help influencer, wellness coach, or tiktok therapist.

Houston Tilley (@houstontilley), who is the producer behind You Need Therapy, brings up an experience he recently had while scrolling on social media. Together they talk about the difference between calling someone out and calling someone in, how to manage expectations when you offer feedback, and the power of speaking up when you notice a friend struggling.
