008: Coming out for the social good with Randy Boissonnault The Coming Out Chronicles

    • Sexuality

Randy Boissonnault went from being a kid scared to be seen on campus when the GSA was meeting to being the Special Advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on LGBTQ2 Issues.
In this episode, he shares with Nancy what drives him to create social change and promote inclusion so passionately.  Randy is a great example of just how much is waiting for us on the other side of our closet doors.  Buckle up for some incredible stories of what has happened since Randy came out.
10:50 The moment of being exposed.
23:24 How hard could it be to raise the LGBT flag on Parliament hill?
33:01  How is your business diverse by design?
34:32 Diversity is when you’re invited to the dance, inclusion is when someone invites you to dance.  When’s the last time you invited someone different than you to dance?
35:11 We need to get from Ally-ship to champion-ship… An ally is someone who has your back when you’re in the room.  A Champion is someone who has your back when you’re not in the room.  We need more champions that have your back when you’re not in the room.
