The thing we fear the most is feeling "bad": stressed out, embarrassed, angry, etc. We are in fact so subconsciously afraid of those feelings that we'd do almost anything to avoid them.
But unfortunately, that means avoiding doing the things in life that are important and would take us closer to our goals.
