#8 with Tanja Orning (ENGLISH‪)‬ Zeit für Neues Zeug

    • Music

My guest today is Tanja Orning.
She is a Cellist, is Professor of Classical Music Improvisation at the University of Agder and Assistant Professor of Performance Practice at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
As a Cellist, she is primarily at Home in the Field of Contemporary and Experimental Music. With her Ensemble Asamisimasa she won the Norwegian Grammy twice and released her own CD “Cellotronics” for Cello and Electronics in 2005.
In the Podcast, we talk about her Texts from her Time as a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Teacher (including her Dissertation “The Polyphonic Performer”) and discuss in Detail our Views on the Future of the Musician’s Personality and that of the Performer.
Tanja also gives a lot of Insights into her Work as a Professor and the Teaching Concepts.
If I had the chance, I probably would have chosen the cello and go to norway to study in her class. A very inspiring talk, enjoy and take a look in the links in the show notes.
