Meet Maria Paula Carreño and María Escolán. Maria Paula is a Queer Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, and she was in charge of Outreach and Marketing for this year’s Rutas Festival. María Escolán is a queer theatre artist from El Salvador living on the unceded traditional Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. María worked on two different pieces in the festival, she was the Translator/ Narrator of Pequeños Territorios en Reconstrucción and she was also the Assistant Director and unexpected understudy for Children of Fire.

Conoce a María Paula Carreño y María Escolán. María Paula es una artista queer multidisciplinaria colombiana-canadiense, y ella estuvo a cargo de Outreach y Marketing para el Festival Rutas de este año. María Escolán es una artista de teatro queer de El Salvador que vive en los territorios tradicionales no cedidos de Coast Salish de las naciones Musqueam, Squamish y Tsleil-Waututh. María trabajó en dos producciones diferentes en el festival, fue la Traductora/Narradora de Pequeños Territorios en Reconstrucción y también fue la Asistente de Dirección e inesperada suplente de Children of Fire.
