Customer Reviews
Truly, a wonderful podcast
Over the last 10+ years, many different podcasts have entered and exited my library of favorites. But only this podcast has remained a steadfast companion throughout. It is just so good! Roman and all the other producers are top shelf journalists and artists. Lately, Iβve been revisiting the classic episodes, and they all hold up quite well.
If I may, Iβd also like to respond to some other negative reviews that complain about too much laughter/giggling.I understand that everyone has different tastes, and the world is richer for that diversity, yada yada yadaβ¦ but I for one want more laughter in my life (and podcasts) not less! I think itβs great.
Roman Mars is a smart guy
The host and most of his supporting cast appear to believe that the west coast of the USA represents life in 99% of the world. Today I listened to a report on the threat gas cook stoves pose, and how one of the "solutions" is to build new homes with no gas service. In my country, there are tens of millions of buildings heated with gas. When the temperature drops to minus 30ΒΊF you will have some difficulty heating a home with electricity... and if you can accomplish it, the cost of the electricity you use will the purchase of anything elseβincluding foodβimpossible. Electricity is at an all-time high price. My current bill for water and power (not gas) is $500 a month. Heating my small home in the winter with electricity would result in a $2000 electric bill. Not to mention that the electric grid could not handle the demand. Even the power line to my home is not sufficient for the current draw this would create. Come on, Roman. Get your "researchers" to do some actual work. Not everyone lives in Oakland.
So great!
Thank-you Roman and crew for consistently bringing such amazing and interesting content. I love you guys enough to have purchased 99% invisible city, which I cherish!
Also, thank-you for inspiring the most hilarious 1-star reviews! My favourites might be βBadβ, or maybe that Roman giggles too much. So creative! Haha!
Seriously though, Iβve been listening forever and will continue to do so!
