    Jesus has a plan for His church and a way to fulfill her mission. He is calling all believers to become a royal priesthood and to participate in seeking and building his kingdom - the kingdom of Heaven.     We often dont realize how much we need the presence of God. There is so much that God gives us or he has given us access to - but sadly we often ignore it or minimize its value.     Easter Sunday

    The resurrection of Jesus is at the heart of Christianity. If Jesus didn’t conquer death, we wouldn’t have Christianity today. The Romans only needed to provide the body of Jesus to shut all of Christianity down - but they were unable. Why? Because Jesus actually raised from the dead. He is alive - we are to rejoice and celebrate. This is such good news. But it doesn’t end there. From that time on Jesus has been encountering people - and drawing them to himself. Millions of people have had their hearts ‘burn within them’ as the Holy Spirit draws near to them and invites them to know Jesus.     The Garden Prayer of Jesus

    Palm Sunday is both a celebration—of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem—and the “beginning of the end” that culminates on Golgotha. Jesus is committing to His ultimate act of obedience in order to bring us restored peace with the Father, not to wage war on us. And yet He Himself is facing the darkest hour in the history of all humanity. How does He prepare? He goes to the garden. He prays. And the way in which He prays has much to teach us as we face our own trials, testing, suffering, or grief. In these final hours of His life, out of His own great suffering, He simultaneously models for us a prayer of honesty, surrender, and obedience.     Jesus comes on the clouds and judges apostate Jerusalem, but by doing so he makes a way for his church to build and spread his kingdom to every nation. Though he comes once in AD 70, he comes again, and finally, at the end of history, to judge the living and the dead.     Jesus continues, with these next few verses in his Olivet Discourse, to warn his disciples about the things to come. This tribulation and affliction that they experience immediately precedes his coming in judgment upon apostate Israel, after which follows the growth and expansion of the kingdom of heaven through the scattering of Christians throughout the world.
